I have lived in Yavapai County 34 years, Opening businesses and being involved in my community. I started by owning a business on Whiskey Row, The Wooden Unicorn, I was an extra in a movie called Nobody's Fool with Rosanna Arquette. In 1987, I  was elected to be President of the Down Town Prescott Association, During my presidency we brought back the Easter egg hunt on the square, I worked with LaVon Anderson to start Acker Night, ( link on menu) an event that is still going strong every December. I started the Christmas City mugs with designs by local school children used for the first few years. I started numerous other events in the Down Town Prescott area,  The Off Street Festival, Frontier Days on the Square, These plus many other events were all started while I was President of the DPA. I also worked on the Bluegrass Festival. I was involved with making a commercial on how tourism affects business which aired statewide. I was Vice President of the Prescott Chamber of Commerce for a while, Later I was also President of the Ponderosa Mall starting art and craft shows and other promotions. In 1995 I had the great honor of being elected to Prescott City Council, During my tenure we saved Willow and Watson Lakes and made them a beautiful riparian area. We brought the Gateway mall to the area and York and Lamb car dealerships, We made Bull Whacker hill safer, plus many other additions to the economy. I was elected twice by the citizens of Prescott Valley to serve on the Town Council and was instrumental in the development of the Service Memorial located at the Civic Center. I, along with several others have a tree planted there to honor my father, a WW2 veteran. The one accomplishment that I am the most proud of is playing Santa Clause free of charge for numerous charities and NON Profits, including Shop With A Cop, Tri-City Partnership, The Boys and Girls Club. I have made serving my community a huge part of my life and have enjoyed every minute of it and I'm not done yet! ~ Harold Wise
